Jenishbek Nazaraliev conveyed the Benediction of His Holiness the Dalai Lama XIV to the people of Kalmikia

Earlier, in January 2013, an Honorary Member of the World League the Dalai Lama XIV with the help of non-governmental organization appealed to the Buddhists of Russia due to the threat of future alcohol and drug addiction. In his message, he made a point of the problem and its global dimension. " All over the world these days we hear constantly of growing numbers of people addicted to drugs and alcohol, - said the Dalai Lama in his appeal. – “It saddens me to know that this is increasingly true in a historically Buddhist country like Kalmykia.”
The Buddhist leader recalled the essence of true happiness, opposing it to alcohol and drugs. At the end of his message, the Dalai Lama says: " I pray for the Buddhists who wish to rid themselves of addiction to alcohol and drugs may find strength and support to do so, and that young people who have not fallen prey to such dangesr may yet be protected from them.”
According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kalmykia, the Minister of Education, Culture and Science Larisa Vasilyeva, the Ministry sent a text of the appeal, which was granted by the World League, to all educational institutions of the Russian region "for practical use in the prevention work to fight against alcoholism and drug trafficking," - stated in the letter.
The Ministry emphasized that the Kalmyk Buddhism has a long history. "In today's world, when, along with a good and joyful, we become witnesses of the pernicious influence of alcohol, the spread of Buddhist teachings aimed at human happiness, compassion for all living on earth, undoubtedly, biases for the better development of society in general, its spiritual and mental enrichment, "- said Larisa Vasilyeva.
Head of the Kalmykia Government Alexei Orlov became an Honorary Member of the World League "Mind Free of Drugs," and fully supported its initiatives aimed at cooperation for the welfare of Kalmykia. In late January of this year Jenishbek Nazaraliev has conveyed a Message of the Dalai Lama to the Head of Tyva Republic, Sholban Kara-ool, and to the President of the Republic of Buryatia, Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn.
