Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the UCLA School of Medicine Karen Miotto, M.D., is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UCLA. She is also the Medical Director of the UCLA Addiction Medicine Service and the Medical Director of the Opioid Treatment Program at the Downtown Los Angeles Ambulatory Care VA. Dr. Miotto is frequently an invited speaker at local and national addiction meetings. Her research is in the area of medication development for additive disease. She is the recipient of a career development award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to study the treatment of GHB addiction and is a co-investigator on several studies in the area of pain and addiction.
